Peer Karam Baksh was born a natural powerful charlatan and history shows he was a strict follower of his religion "Islam".
A certain karamah took place in his life when he was 12. His mother told him to take the corn to the grind mill for it to be grinded into flour. After collecting the flour he was making his way home when he was confronted by a group of beggars, who were asking for food and help. He as a child felt pity and gave the flour to the beggars in equal portions. After this episode he was now scared that he had given away all of the flour and will be questioned by his mother.
He then decided to fill the same sack with sand and took that back home. This sack was then placed alongside other household food. Fearful of the consequences he went to his quarters and hid away. After a short while his mother shouted for him to come and eat. His mother was very happy with the flour and praised how good it was.
It was here on he realised the greater power which was he was accompanied with and that he was blessed by Allah "Rabbi min fadli". This was the changing point for our "Godri Badshah", here on he devoted himself to Allah (swt) in spirit, body and soul.
He wanted to further his spiritual knowledge and studied under another great scholar, Peer Wora Badshah. After receiving great guidance from his master Godri Badshah left civilisation to venture on a trip to self-discovery. He travelled great great distances through valleys, jungles and mountains of India and Kashmir.
It has been suggested that he travelled through 75,000 different places throughout the land of India and Kashmir. It's common knowledge that he stopped at each place for meditation before moving on. Most of the places where he stopped have been marked with little shrines out of respect. He mediated for a total of 36 years, 12 of which were spent near the great river, Darya –e- Jehlum. .
